Together, we can do the most good in Pulaski County. Check out all the ways to volunteer with us below.

Bell Ringing

The ringing of The Salvation Army bell is not just a sound of a bell…it’s the sound of help, hope, and comfort to our neighbors when they need it most. Every penny, nickel, dime, quarter, and dollar collected in our community supports local Salvation Army programs. By helping raise funds through a Red Kettle, you’re a neighbor helping your neighbors.

Why Bell Ringing?

Did you know that donating 2 hours of your priceless time generates $60-70 and provides 30-40% of funds needed for our local service unit to continue important work meeting emergency needs.

The Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign has been a Christmas tradition since 1891. Salvation Army Captain Joseph McFee set out a kettle to raise funds to feed the hungry in San Francisco. Now, The Salvation Army and Red Kettles can be found all over the world.

Many of our faithful bell ringers get creative – dressing up in costume or crazy sweaters, or singing Christmas Carols, with friends, family, or co-workers.

Emergency Disaster Relief

Salvation Army EDS is one of the nation’s largest disaster services agencies, providing relief to millions of survivors and first responders annually.

From small local disasters to the largest hurricanes, Salvation Army EDS responds with immediate relief such as feeding, financial assistance, distribution of emergency supplies, and emotional spiritual care.

And often the EDS effort continues with long-term recovery assistance with trained caseworkers.

A small portion of local donations are allocated for disaster response at the local, regional and national levels.  Sometimes these funds return to Pulaski County when we have a local disaster.
